About the Team

As part of our continued global expansion, Law360 is launching its Australian bureau — a new team dedicated to high-impact coverage of the legal, regulatory, and financial sectors across the country.
About the Role
Law360 Australia is seeking a motivated and adaptable General Assignment Reporter to join its fast-paced newsroom. In this role, you will deliver timely, accurate and engaging news stories, reporting on developments across a variety of industries and legal practice areas.
The ideal candidate brings strong news judgment, curiosity, and the ability to respond quickly to evolving news cycles, alongside a solid understanding of Australia’s legal landscape. This is an opportunity to contribute to a leading legal news service and build expertise reporting on issues that matter to lawyers, business leaders and regulators.
Responsibilities
Report and write daily legal news articles with speed, accuracy and strong news judgment
Write clear, compelling and accurate headlines
Adhere to Law360’s editorial standards, in-house style guidelines
Build and maintain strong relationships with sources
Collaborate closely with fellow reporters, editors and regional/global Law360 teams to support cohesive coverage
Contribute to editorial meetings and support story development and newsroom planning
Use approved LexisNexis tools, including AI-assisted technologies, responsibly and within governance frameworks to support editorial workflows
Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives
Requirements
Proven relevant skills gained through experience will be considered.
Qualifications in journalism / media or related field
Exceptional communication skills
At least one year of full-time paid reporting experience.
Demonstrated reporting and writing skills.
Research, analytical & database skills
Experience reporting for a business or legal audience (preferred)
