Responsibilities:

Run reports and place orders for raw materials for specified plant

Place orders for supplies for specified plant

Manage pick up requests for incoming shipments for specified plant

Following up on orders that have been placed to ensure on time delivery

Conducting price comparisons for supplies and some shared components

Update internal databases with pricing, lead time, mins to buy based on vendor

Maintain accurate information in GP for orders: expected dates, backorders, short ships

Assist with analysis and reports as necessary

Maintain up to date information for suppliers, email address, phone numbers, pricing.

Maintain files of descriptions of raw materials and supplies

Purchasing back up for other buyers if/when necessary

Filling in for Purchasing Manager if/when necessary

Additional duties as described by the Purchasing Manager

Qualifications:

Ability to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Operate standard office equipment including pertinent software applications, prepare and maintain accurate records. Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents and/or ratios, square feet calculations. Basic knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles, office management procedures, purchasing procedures and practices. Ability to adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse individuals or groups. Meet deadlines and schedules, setting priorities and working with detailed information/data. Ability to perform functions in Microsoft excel such as: vlookup, if statements, nested if statements with AND, OR, BUT, pivot tables, data query and power query, charting, data tables, statistical formulas, and other complicated functions in extensive excel spreadsheets. Proficient in other Microsoft office formats including Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Must have analytical skills and written communication skills. Must be a team player and have interpersonal skills. Must be approachable, polite, and courteous.
