The Refurbishment/Modification Engineer is considered the lead for refurbishing and or modifying the capital equipment needs for the Combustion Rentals asset fleet. The RME is responsible for ownership of the equipment design (as provided by the design engineer) fabrication, and documentation to produce quality combustion equipment to support the evolving needs of the Combustion Rentals asset fleet. Duties include coordination of internal and outsourced resources, management of scope/schedule, documentation of developed equipment, and transfer of finished equipment to Combustion Rentals asset fleet.

Job Description/Duties

  • Coordinate with internal resources (i.e. drafting, supply chain, etc.) to release necessary tasks for unit specific assemblies.
  • Participate in discussions with Engineering, Zeeco Global Field Services and/or customer to facilitate understanding of equipment design, installation considerations, and any other equipment-related information as needed.
  • Interact with Drafting Manager to provide necessary information (redlines) to construct drawing package for internal review
  • Utilize available project information and drawing package to source fabrication with internal or external fabricators.
  • Complete RFQ (request for quote) process, negotiate pricing/scope, and determine best choice to release equipment to.
  • Duplicate RFQ process and selection for control system (as required)
  • Interact with Execution team to select and organize free-issue materials to be provided to vendor(s) and/or Rentals shop personnel to complete unit assembly.
  • Interface with Administrative group to release and transmit information both internally and externally
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand equipment development gaps and opportunities.
  • Assist management in development of AFEs for corporate approval on expenditures for equipment refurbishment or modification, including but not limited to, outlining detailed equipment scope and budgeted costs for equipment.
  • Generate project schedule(s) for related equipment with emphasis on targeted "Ready for Service" date.
  • Manage all functions above and track progress against project schedule.
  • Maintain constant communication with Fleet Team on current equipment design needs, considerations for effective business use of assets, and ways to continually improve Zeeco's reputation as the world's Premier Combustion Rentals Company
  • Coordinate with Accounting regarding management of internal cash flow and working capital as related to efficient production refurbished/modified equipment
  • Responsible for creation and publishing of all pertinent equipment documentation, including but not limited to, operation manuals, required maintenance practices, required storage practices, and installation recommendations.
  • Facilitate transfer of finished equipment and documentation to Fleet Team and
  • Perform additional duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications

  • Degree not required but preferred, Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Preferred: Mechanical, Industrial, Constr. Mgmt.) or equivalent background as justified.
  • Prefer experience (related) in any of the below:
  • Manufacturing environment
  • R&D environment
  • Internship relating to project management, manufacturing, continuous improvement, etc.
  • OEM sales/fabrication
  • Universal project management
