Core Responsibilities

General Plant Labor

• Housekeeping, hosing down floors, moping, sweeping, emptying trash, picking up trash, etc.

• Shovel and clean up spills in the plant

• Keep barrels emptied of trash and product

• Clean equipment from top to bottom

• Help unstop screw conveyors

• Cut plastic and product off of screw

• Keep Floor drains cleaned out and covers on drains

• Expected to perform other duties as assigned

• Oversees rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment preferred

• Knowledge of mechanical rendering and or process equipment

• Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment

• Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations

• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed

• Ability to read and write

• Ability to climb stairs and silos

• Ability to stand for entire shift

• Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch

• Occasionally push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.

• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms

• Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and./or cold temperatures.
