Job SummaryProvides EMT-level emergency and non-emergency medical care across all age groups in the pre-hospital environment; supports paramedics and ensures safe patient transport.
Minimum Qualifications• Current NREMT EMT certification; MSDH EMT preferred.
• Current MSDL; MSDH EMS Driver preferred.
• CPR certification; FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800 preferred.
Preferred Qualifications• Positive team attitude; prior EMS experience preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities• Provide EMT-level care to patients.
• Maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and EMS staff.
• Prioritize daily work to maximize productivity.
• Provide guidance to EMS drivers and students.
• Complete accurate documentation for all calls.
• Ensure equipment readiness and safe operation.
Physical Requirements• Walk and work on varied terrain and in confined spaces.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull 75–100 lbs with or without assistance.
• Repeated transfers of patients and heavy equipment.
• Maintain stamina for prolonged standing, kneeling, twisting, and awkward postures.
• Fine-motor control for emergency/transport equipment; adequate vision and hearing.
