Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Financial Systems position is a key leader in the ongoing design, configuration, development, implementation, and operation of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial system and supporting applications. Serves as a liaison for and among Essentia’s finance and Information Systems (IS) leadership and other personnel, including external consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee design, configuration, development, and operation of the Essentia ERP financial system, currently Infor/Lawson. Support other financial applications as assigned.
  • Supervise daily operations of financial systems and support Essentia finance team reporting needs. Present and explain application capabilities to end users.
  • Support assigned finance applications according to vendor requirements. Design and conduct system testing as necessary.
  • Manage decision-making around reporting, data governance, and process automation within ERP and related applications. Collaborate with Finance Division leadership and other impacted stakeholder groups to gain support and approval of recommendations.
  • Identify and implement financial system process improvements and reporting enhancements, focusing on automation and efficiency.
  • Conduct planning and pre-implementation activities related to ERP replacement and cloud migration in collaboration with IS, Supply Chain, and Human Resources peer leaders. Serve as a key leader in ERP replacement effort.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Five or more years of progressive finance/accounting experience
  • Prior experience with large ERP systems. Infor, Workday, or Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage working relationships through strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience leading remote teams in a large matrixed organization
  • Prior IS education or experience with financial information systems support
  • Experience with ERP implementations, particularly from on-premises to cloud-based platform
