The Survey Quality Engineer is responsible for providing H&P’s Survey Management and Wellbore Placement services to MWD operators on location and customers in a timely manner. The Survey Quality Engineer will use effective communication, data analysis, and customer service attitude to fulfill their responsibilities.

What you will do:

QC and maintain survey set data using proprietary software.

Identify survey errors through means of Advanced MWD Analytics and provide survey corrections in a timely matter to the MWD operator on the rig site.

Troubleshoot basic issues with the MWD operator.

Actively monitor Collision Avoidance risks.

Build and maintain relationships with customers and field personnel.

Interface with external customers, including, but not limited to, Drilling Engineers, Well Planners, MWD Coordinators, MWD Operators.

Interface with internal customers, including, but not limited to, Coordinators, Survey Analysts, Operations Engineers, and Business Development.

Become intimately familiar with the H&P Advanced MWD Analytics system as well as the other H&P service offerings.

7/7 work schedule (one week on and one week off), 12 hour day shifts.

What you need:

Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in technical or STEM related field preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and customer awareness.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
-
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
-
Self-starter and motivated.
-
Proficient at time management and able to multitask.
-
Can work well in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Willing to work out of Tulsa, OK (Preferred) or Denver, CO.
Not a must, but a plus

1-2 years prior experience working in the oil and gas industry preferred.

MWD and/or Directional Drilling experience preferred.
-
General understanding of drilling and rig operations.
-
Previous remote operations experience preferred.
