We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager – Infrastructure to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality civil infrastructure projects across the region.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects from planning and mobilisation through to delivery and close-out, working alongside some of the industry’s leading technical specialists and project professionals. You’ll bring strong project management capability, commercial awareness and a collaborative leadership style to deliver outcomes that make a real difference to the communities we serve.
What you’ll do
As a Project Manager, you’ll take a leading role in the successful delivery of infrastructure projects, balancing technical, commercial, safety, quality and stakeholder requirements to achieve outstanding project outcomes.
You’ll:
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Provide strong project leadership across the project lifecycle, from early planning and constructability through to construction, commissioning and close-out.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, consultants and internal technical teams to establish clear project objectives and drive successful delivery.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, opportunities and dependencies, taking action early to keep projects on track.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cash flow, resources and commercial performance, using data and insight to support effective decision-making.
- Lead project planning and programming, ensuring resources, procurement and delivery strategies are aligned with project requirements.
- Manage contracts and commercial relationships, supporting effective administration, change management, claims and dispute resolution where required.
- Establish and maintain strong project governance, reporting and controls to provide clients and leadership with confidence in project performance.
- Champion quality, health and safety, sustainability and risk management across project delivery.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing practical advice and solutions to complex project and delivery challenges.
- Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, creating an inclusive environment where people can perform at their best.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, systems and processes and contribute to the continued growth and success of AECOM’s infrastructure business.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines strong project management capability with a genuine passion for delivering infrastructure that benefits communities.
You’ll ideally have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience managing the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, with experience across roads, bridges or transport infrastructure with Transport for Main Roads (TMR) highly regarded.
- Experience across project development, construction delivery and contract administration.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, road and bridge design, construction, maintenance and materials.
- Experience managing project budgets, programs, resources, risks and commercial outcomes.
- Experience working with major contract forms such as AS 2124, AS 4300, D&C, Alliance or similar contracting models is desirable.
- Strong understanding of project governance, quality, safety and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to make sound, timely decisions in a complex project environment.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to bring multidisciplinary teams together around a common goal.
