Position Summary

The Reliability Leader will work to develop and implement reliability strategies across all RNG sites. This role will support the execution of the organization’s Reliability Roadmap while driving continuous improvement initiatives that leverage reliability analytics to optimize asset capacity, reduce equipment failures, and improve overall cost performance. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for improving mechanical reliability across multiple sites.
  • Develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans, including equipment inspections, predictive and preventive maintenance (PPM), critical spare parts management, and FIIX data utilization, using tools such as Criticality Assessments and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Foster a reliability-focused culture across site organizations and business partners by recommending resources, championing standard work practices, and ensuring teams understand and apply techniques required to maximize asset reliability and shift from reactive to proactive maintenance practices
  • Support execution of Amp Work Management by utilizing technical expertise and site master data (equipment files, technical documents, training materials, maintenance plans, scope task lists, materials, and spare parts) to identify and implement maintenance planning and job scope improvements
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current predictive maintenance programs and establish reliability activities for existing, modified, and newly installed equipment
  • Collaborate closely with Technology, Maintenance, Operations, and Production teams, as well as the Operations & Support Center
  • Serve as a role model by training, coaching, and mentoring team members in advanced reliability techniques and tools to strengthen reliability capabilities across all locations.
  • Analyze systems and equipment against design basis requirements and develop action plans to address identified gaps
  • Participate in site safety committees and incorporate applicable safety and reliability standards into equipment and maintenance practices, with a focus on Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance (MIQA)
  • Ensure new designs and modifications incorporate reliability, maintainability, operability, and life-cycle cost considerations
  • Participate in maintenance and reliability networks, sharing best practices, lessons learned, successes, and improvement opportunities across sites
  • Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including KPI reporting, analysis, and presentation
  • Support the company's renewable energy initiatives through strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset
  • Utilize and support SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Ignition) and data historians (e.g., AVEVA, OSI PI) to improve operational reliability and performance
  • Provide operational support and cross-site coverage as needed to ensure business continuity and effective resource utilization

Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • 5-7 years of relevant engineering, reliability, maintenance, or military-equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across functions and locations
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and drive results
  • Ability to travel 50-60% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in renewable energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, or other high-hazard process industries.
  • Experience with condition-based and predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonics, and performance testing.
  • Understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as eddy current testing, ultrasonic thickness testing, radiography, and visual inspections.
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Equipment Uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and Life Cycle Cost Analysis/Total Cost of Ownership principles.
  • Familiarity with FIIX or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
