Program Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to support aviation system sustainment and performance improvement efforts. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and maintainability of aircraft systems, with a focus on predictive and preventative maintenance strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reliability engineering within the aviation sector, preferably with experience supporting USAF fighter aircraft platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Analyze equipment failures and system downtime to identify root causes and reliability risks.
  • Design and execute reliability tests to validate system performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing teams to improve equipment reliability and lifecycle performance.
  • Lead reliability improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and increase mission readiness.
  • Utilize statistical tools and diagnostic software to analyze performance data and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports, failure analysis documentation, and reliability recommendations for leadership.
  • Support the development of repair procedures and test equipment for non-repairable components.
  • Maintain reliability databases and track performance metrics across systems and components.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a reliability engineering role within a manufacturing or aviation environment.
  • Firm understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
  • Proficiency with reliability analysis tools, statistical software, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering within the aviation industry, ideally supporting USAF fighter aircraft.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) – ASQ or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience
  • with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), total productive maintenance (TPM), and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Knowledge of military aviation standards and sustainment practices
