Your Role
Our customers depend on the flawless operation of our cameras during high-stakes live broadcasts. In these live productions, there’s only one opportunity to deliver an exceptional viewing experience for the public with the highest performance.
They demand not only top-tier quality but also unwavering reliability and durability. As a Reliability Architect, you understand these stringent requirements every day. Collaborating with a skilled team of developers and test engineers, your responsibility is to ensure reliability is embedded in the multi-disciplinary designs of our camera systems.
With a keen eye on the development process, you inspire designers to adopt reliability techniques and standards that guarantee each camera leaving our factory is ready for the demanding world of live broadcasting. The Breda R&D camera team embraces innovation with new technologies in their designs. In this dynamic environment, you creatively propose and implement new validation methods to confirm the reliability of these innovations.
Your expertise in applying materials, electronics, and subsystems in embedded designs allows you to critically evaluate design proposals and assist designers with thorough test specifications and assessments.
Purpose of the function is to:

Lead and support the quality vision of Reliability Engineering to all internal customers and team members.

Key contributor in the product generation process to ensure the reliability of the product is statistically validated, supporting new product launches and existing product support.

Work with engineering to develop reliability requirements and decompositions, establish a reliability program and perform appropriate analyses to ensure that the products meet all appropriate requirements.

Develop detailed reliability test plans to ensure that appropriate testing and sample test size is utilized to demonstrate product reliability goals.

Participate in preparing schedules and work estimates for reliability activities.

Provide reliability-engineering services to all internal customers including executing reliability tests, analyses, reliability predictions, test planning, and reliability related problem solving.

Coordinate efforts to establish product reliability goals and to plan, execute and monitor activities aimed at achieving those goals.
What you’ll need to be successful

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or applied physics with 5 to 10 years of experience

Knowledge of:
-
Mechanical and Electrical Engineering: Understanding the application of mechanical and electrical components in cameras or embedded equipment to design systems that are robust and reliable.

Environmental Testing: Experience with environmental testing to ensure cameras can withstand different conditions such as extreme temperatures, humidity, physical shocks and electro-magnetic interference.

Firmware and Software Development: Knowledge of firmware and software development for creating reliable control systems and user interfaces for the cameras. Knowledge of Python for automated testing.

Quality Assurance: Implementing rigorous quality assurance processes to test and validate the reliability of the camera systems before deployment.

Compliance and Standards: Ensuring that the camera design complies with industry standards and regulations for broadcast equipment. Experience with certification processes at DEKRA and Kiwa is a pre. Knowledge of performing EMC tests.
