About the Job

We are going through massive, global Agile transformation and as a result we are rapidly expanding our Agile teams across EMEA and are looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is going from strength to strength, building and shaping our agile frameworks across our global teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aggregate team Program Increment (PI) objectives into Program PI objectives.
  • Take part in PI Planning readiness by preparing the Vision and backlogs during both pre-planning and post-planning stages.
  • Establish PI Planning readiness (when no value stream level exists) and facilitates PI Planning.
  • Manage and optimizes the flow of value through the program using various tools.
  • Assist with execution and Feature completion.
  • Drive continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt. Assists with economic decision making.
  • Helps manage risks and dependencies.
  • Attend System Demos and Solution Demos.
  • Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters on lean-agile practices and methods.
  • Facilitate the Agile Release Train Sync meeting.
  • Assist Product Management with economic decision making, and by facilitating capability and Feature estimation by teams and then aggregate up to the Epic level.
  • Encourage collaboration between System and Solution Architects, User Experience, and teams.
  • Help ensure strategy and execution alignment by working with Agile Product Owners, Product Managers, and Stakeholders.
  • Report status and support activities related to Program Portfolio Management and Release Management.
  • Address critical bottlenecks by providing input on resourcing.
  • Encourage and facilitates team level and program level continuous integration and communities of practice for Quality, Engineering, SAFe, Agile, and Lean.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive Agile transition experience,
  • Experience as RTE, Product Owner, Program Manager or Agile Coach
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer certification preferred
  • Extensive experience managing software delivery; strong IT application development & leadership background preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering on large scale or multiple initiatives. Experience with all aspects of the delivery, including planning, features/user stories, design and delivery execution
  • Experience applying Lean Thinking and Systems Thinking in large organizations
  • Self-directed achiever who identifies opportunities to drive value and takes the lead
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach, and a focus on building relationships with people at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with Lean Portfolio Management procedures and ceremonies up to the Portfolio level.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership ability to engage and motivate in a high-performance culture
