Job Summary:
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) III will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the delivery of complex projects across multiple agile teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the coordination and integration of work across multiple Agile teams. Primary directive is to manage risks, escalate impediments, confirm value delivery, and assist in driving consistent improvement.
- Lead and facilitate enterprise intake, planning and initiative breakdown, serving as the primary point of contact for cross-team communication, collaboration, and issue resolution across Delivery Plans.
- Ensure alignment of team-level activities driving organizational outcomes through Epics and Features, organizational strategy of IT leaders, and stakeholder expectations.
- Facilitate regular Scrum of Scrums (SoS) meetings to review Feature progress, identify dependencies, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement; this includes system and solution demos. Assist with periodic synchronization meetings to ensure Delivery Plans across SoSs are in sync.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including Business and IT Leaders, product owners, Scrum Masters, and IT Managers.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks and dependencies across Agile teams, proactively addressing issues to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of Agile processes, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Enterprise Agile CoE, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning.
- Maintain positive employee and team experiences by creating an environment that facilitates positive team health as well as provide guidance and management to all workers to ensure goals are met, promoting self-organization and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with Agile frameworks, methodologies, and best practices established by the Agile CoE, while also promoting adaptability and flexibility to meet evolving business needs.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
- Five (5) years of experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or similar role in an Agile or hybrid waterfall environment, leading large-scale Agile transformations and programs
- Experience with Agile tools and platforms (e.g., Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps) and Agile metrics and reporting
Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Proficient in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and foundations of SAFe
- Strong facilitation, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a focus on driving results and delivering value to stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and driving change in complex organizational structures
- Skilled in planning, negotiation, and effective resource management in relation to capacities and velocities of agile teams
- Adaptable and flexible in navigating organizational changes
- Decisive and critical thinker in high-pressure situations
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Agile tools(e.g., Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps)
- Customer-focused approach to deliver value and exceed expectations
Licensure and Certification:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification required
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation Range:
$110,800.00 - $193,800.00
