As the Release Train Engineer (RTE) for the EB IT Underwriting, Sales, and Quoting Value Stream, you will be a servant leader and facilitator for Agile Release Trains (ARTs) within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of value delivery, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement across multiple Agile teams to achieve business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate ART Events: Lead and facilitate all major ART events, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and System Demos, ensuring effective communication, coordination, ways of working norms and decision-making.

  • Drive Program Execution: Coach and mentor ART teams on SAFe principles and practices, helping them to deliver features and solutions efficiently and predictably. Identify and resolve impediments that hinder team progress.

Understands GenAI engineering processes, Github metrics and proactively influence positive impacts to overall productivity. Understands RE best practices and available reporting to understand overall health of our code pipelines, environment availability, FinOps posture and automated regression suite.

  • Foster Collaboration and Communication: Promote a culture of open communication, collaboration, and transparency within the ART and across other value streams. Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution at the program level.

  • Manage Risks and Dependencies: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate program-level risks and dependencies. Work with Product Management, System Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and address potential roadblocks.

  • Support Continuous Improvement: Guide the ART in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities in processes, tools, and practices. Drive the adoption of Lean-Agile principles throughout the value stream.

  • Report on Program Metrics: Collect, analyze, and report on key ART metrics (e.g., PI predictability, flow, quality) to provide visibility into program performance and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

  • Coach and Mentor: Act as a coach and mentor for Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other team members, helping them to develop their Agile capabilities and leadership skills.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product management, and other IT teams to ensure alignment on strategy, scope, and delivery expectations.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in an Agile leadership role, with at least 2 years as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or equivalent in a SAFe environment.

  • SAFe Certification: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification required. Additional SAFe certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master) preferred.

  • Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Agile principles, values, and practices (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).

  • Leadership Skills: Proven servant leadership abilities with excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying and resolving complex program-level impediments.

  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with relevant tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).

  • Domain Knowledge (Preferred): Experience within the insurance industry, particularly with underwriting, sales, or quoting systems, is highly desirable.
