The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing software releases across multiple banking platforms and environments. This role ensures that all releases are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with banking regulations and internal quality standards, minimizing risk and ensuring production stability.
Main duties and responsibilities
Release Planning & Scheduling
Define and maintain the release calendar for all banking applications.
Coordinate with development, QA, operations, and business teams to align release timelines.
Release Readiness & Governance
Conduct release readiness reviews and go/no-go meetings.
Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, security standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001).
Deployment Management
Oversee CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, and environment readiness.
Manage emergency releases and hotfix deployments for critical banking systems.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify potential release risks and develop rollback and contingency plans.
Communication & Reporting
Provide timely updates to stakeholders on release status, risks, and impacts.
Prepare post-release reports and maintain audit documentation.
Post-Release Activities
Monitor production stability and coordinate incident response if needed.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure zero data loss and secure handling of production credentials.
Qualifications requirements
Technical Skills:
CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins), Git, Infrastructure as Code.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
Process Knowledge:
ITIL Release & Change Management, Agile/DevOps practices.
Domain Knowledge:
Banking systems, Digital Channels, Front Office, Back Office, ISO 20022, security and compliance standards.
Soft Skills:
Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Percentage of releases delivered on schedule.
Change failure rate and rollback frequency.
Compliance audit success rate.
Stakeholder satisfaction with release communication.

Skills Required
