The Release Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving excellence across Network International’s client delivery and operational readiness. This role is responsible for defining and executing the Branch Strategy, consolidating production-ready code, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless production readiness of incremental solutions.
The Release Manager will lead continuous improvements in the Change and Release Management processes, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing risk, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
In addition to strategic oversight, the ideal candidate is expected to be hands-on with:
- Code management and version control
- Build and deployment automation
- Cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines
This role demands a blend of technical expertise, process leadership, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful and timely releases aligned with business goals.
• Lead release backlog planning, team coordination, and update the release calendar based on prioritized features.
• Evaluate Requests for Change (RFCs), assess risks, and determine impact across clients, systems, and services.
• Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to schedule releases and conduct risk assessments.
• Identify and mitigate risks or impediments affecting delivery timelines, quality, and roadmap execution.
• Coordinate release content across service requests, third-party applications, and internal teams.
• Communicate key project milestones, changes, and dependencies across stakeholders.
• Manage cross-functional collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
• Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone checkpoints, and Go/No-Go decisions.
• Document and maintain deployment plans in Jira and Confluence.
• Provide weekly release reporting and communicate schedules to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product owners, technologists, and scrum teams to drive delivery.
• Promote Agile best practices, facilitate retrospectives, and implement continuous improvements.
• Ensure smooth implementation of changes through robust planning, testing, and deployment processes.
• Define and track PMO performance metrics to measure effectiveness.
• Develop and execute change management plans, including resistance management.
• Maintain synchronization of project code branches and oversee build & deployment practices.
• Degree in Computer Information Systems
• Strong log analysis and troubleshooting/Problem Solving skills
• Working knowledge of Atlassian toolset (Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket) is mandatory
• Should have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of DevOps tools in context to CI/CD pipeline
• Working knowledge of Python, YML (Jinja), MAVEN, Batch Scripting
• Oracle SQL knowledge and practical experience are mandatory
• Experience of Cloud Computing/Virtual machines is mandatory
• Working knowledge of Azure, Terraform, Ansible is a plus
• Knowledge of Card Management System, SQL, Testing methodology is a plus
