The Role
Veeva is looking for highly motivated Release engineer to work in our Release Engineering and Tools team. You will be responsible for delivering software on AWE, Kubernetes . In addition, you will be responsible for testing our server upgrades making sure there are no issues with database changes and migrations. You want to be part of a fast-paced team that takes pride in building great software and making customers happy. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, have advanced Coding and Scripting skills, be detail-oriented, creative, motivated, and focused on achieving results.
What You'll Do
- Plan, coordinate, and lead deployments of major product releases, and weekly maintenance and hotfix releases
- Provide deployment instructions and provide guidance to Operations teams.
- Deliver releases/upgrades to SaaS instances with focus and precision
- Perform upgrade testing to identify issues with database patches, reindexing, migration code,
- Identify areas to build tools for Triage Automation failure tracker to improve our processes and reduce manual effort.
- Measure Code coverage to identify areas that need additional testing and improve the quality of our codebase.
- Collaborate with Developers, DevOps, Release engineer and QA teams to identify and design engineering productivity tools.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software testing, Kibana reporting, and automation, and apply this knowledge to improve our software.
Requirements
- Experience working with software releases and implementing Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (Elk Stack)
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, Shell, or other scripting language
- Knowledge of CI/CD and continuous testing approach using tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Gradle
- Good understanding of modern best practices for software development like design patterns, code reusability, extensibility, and maintainability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Experience with Code coverage tools
- Experience with React
- Experience with Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of Life Sciences and Clinical Trials Industry

Compensation
- Base pay: $55,000 - $110,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
