We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-focused individual to join our Client Service/Business Development team as a Relationship Manager. The primary responsibilities of this role include monitoring investor requests and ensuring timely follow-up, drafting and issuing key investor deliverables, supporting central investor communications and reporting, assisting with event preparation and execution, and facilitating client events such as due diligence meetings and audits.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, experience with relevant technology, knowledge of credit products, and a desire to learn and grow within the organization.
The role will primarily focus on private credit products, including CLOs, bank loans, and direct lending.
How you will add value?Analyzing investor requests received in Japanese to ensure a clear understanding of what is required
Gathering and assessing company and product information from across BSP to draft accurate, thoughtful, and timely responses to investor inquiries, both in writing and verbally
For complex inquiries, working with senior client service team members and/or dedicated strategy-level product specialists to explain investor requests in English and co-develop an appropriate response, under the guidance of senior team members
Working with the broader Business Development and Investment teams to follow up collaboratively on requests from Japanese investors that have been sent directly to them, ensuring deadlines are met and the information provided is accurate and well presented
Building strong working relationships with the broader Business Development team and serving as a valued team member, while supporting central initiatives such as firmwide investor events, maintenance of firmwide information, creation of marketing materials, and translation, where required
Assisting the RFP team in the preparation of responses to Japanese client due diligence questionnaires and RFPs/RFIs
Taking the initiative to continually deepen personal knowledge of the BSP business and develop a strong understanding of its products and company information
Experience, Education & Certifications:
At least 3 years of prior work experience, preferably in investor relations or a client service role within financial services
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, CAIA, or CMA preferred
Technical Skills:
Understanding of credit strategies and private credit products
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with Salesforce, MSD, or other CRM tools is a plus
Soft Skills:
Native-level Japanese and fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
Process-focused, with the ability to follow established procedures and workflows to ensure efficient operations
Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks and communications
Customer-focused, with a commitment to providing excellent service to investors and stakeholders
Ability to maintain a positive work environment by communicating effectively with colleagues across Franklin Templeton and its affiliated entities
