The Reinsurance team is managing and optimizing reinsurance strategies to mitigate risk and enhance financial stability. The Reinsurance team plays a crucial role in securing partnerships to protect Wakam against large-scale financial exposures.
Mission
Join Wakam, a modern, innovative insurance company with reinsurance at its core, seeking a Reinsurance Transaction Manager to drive the sustainability and growth of the business. As part of the Reinsurance department, you will report directly to the Chief of Reinsurance and play a pivotal role in maintaining as well as enhancing relationships with reinsurers, essential to Wakam's business model.
Key responsibilities
Supporting Reinsurance Negotiations:
- Prepare and consolidate presentations and internal notes for reinsurer meetings, incorporating technical, financial, and marketing information in collaboration with Underwriting, Finance, and other departments.
- Ensure excellent service levels to reinsurers by tracking and fulfilling their requests. Proactively seek ways to improve the service provided to reinsurers, enhancing client satisfaction scores.
- Contribute to the development of marketing strategies by conducting market intelligence analysis and utilizing feedback from reinsurers.
Securing Execution of Reinsurance Contracts:
- Evaluate the suitability of new partnerships with existing treaties and provide feedback on the need for structural and wording changes, if necessary.
- Oversee interactions with reinsurers regarding contractual commitments (e.g., claims advice, special acceptance, etc.).
- Supervise the treaty wording process from signing to execution of terms.
- Perform regular checks to ensure ongoing compliance with contractual clauses and limits.
Profile Requirements
- Insurance Business, Management or equivalent degree
- First experience acquired in insurance or reinsurance on a similar function
- First experience in a dynamic environment is an advantage
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Collaborative work approach across multiple departments
