The Patient Collections Representative is responsible for analyzing insurance documents, processing reimbursement claims, collecting on patient accounts and releasing accurate billing statements for patient and insurance claims.

This position is full-time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise claims support by reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating and resolving all types of claims as well as recovery and resolution for health plans, commercial customers and government entities
  • Position will handle inbound and outbound calls, from patients and payors, regarding claims and/or account balances
  • Prepares and reviews insurance claims prior to billing
  • Analyze and identify trends and provides reports as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance policies, reimbursement policies and contract compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED OR 2+ years of equivalent working experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience in claims recovery and resolution
  • 2+ years of medical billing and/or medical collections experience
  • Moderate proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in infusion therapy or related healthcare services
  • Adobe PDF experience
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word proficiency
  • Ability to navigate through several technical platforms simultaneously

Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 - $32 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
