A Day in the LifeThis role is responsible for leading central market access strategies and driving engagement with key national healthcare stakeholders to support Medtronic’s business priorities and patient access objectives in China. The position will monitor and analyze healthcare policy developments, shape reimbursement and payment-related strategies, and identify opportunities arising from evolving healthcare reforms.The role requires strong expertise in China’s healthcare financing, reimbursement, and market access environment, with the ability to translate policy trends into actionable business strategies. As a senior member of the GAMA organization, this individual will lead key access initiatives, build and maintain relationships with national and industry stakeholders, influence policy discussions through appropriate channels, and serve as a strategic partner to business and functional leaders.
The successful candidate should bring approximately 10 years of GAMA or Market Access experience within the medical device industry, possess a deep understanding of national and provincial reimbursement systems and access pathways, and demonstrate strong stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership capabilities. The role is suitable for candidates from both multinational and leading domestic medical technology companies with established policy engagement experience and industry networks.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Develops and implements reimbursement strategies and programs to obtain coverage, coding and payment from payer/providers.
- Provides reimbursement-related advice to product development teams, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical and business leaders.
- Identifies payer opportunities and issues and implements programs to resolve/decrease barriers to entry for the company's products or therapies.
- Works closely with Health Economics and Outcomes Research staff to evaluate the economic impact of the use of therapies/products on payers, including the government.
- May create training and deliver education programs to sales force, physicians, home care agencies, case managers, hospital CFO's, medical directors, billing personnel, and pharmacists in clinics and hospitals.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
