Description of Work

The Assistant Regional Director-Office Management & Communications performs administrative work to assist the Regional Director for the Eastern Region in managing Vocational Rehabilitation Programs. Incumbent serves as member of the regional management team in formulating program goals and policies for the region and may represent the Regional Director as needs dictate. Work is performed independently under the general supervision of a Regional Director and is reviewed through periodic conferences and reports. The two primary purposes of this particular position is to ensure quality rehabilitation services are being provided in a timely manner to individuals with disabilities and Vocational Rehabilitation and Independent Living services are being delivered across the thirty-three (33) counties in the Eastern region.
Job Responsibilities Include the Following:
-Assist Regional Director by assessing and investigating regional problems/complaints submitted by consumers and vendors and taking appropriate action deemed necessary.
-Coordinating and supervising the regional operational management system and meeting with unit managers and supervisors to determine goals and objectives, including number of cases to be served by each unit.
-Monitoring regional performance and production goals and reports monthly on these to keep management team abreast of production progress and status.
-Aid in case management of Clients that need regional assistance.
-This position would function under the direction of the Regional Director to aid in management, including personnel and case management of offices that are in need. This could be due to vacancies or the need for mentoring of management
-Personnel management throughout the region with Regional Director oversight.
-This position directly supervises three Regional Specialist and one Administrative Support Position and also provides assistance to the Regional Director and other EIPD staff members.
Duty station will be located in the Eastern Region at the discretion of management and program needs.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade Range $67,122 - $117,465

Recruitment Range $67,122 - $85,000

**Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours**

  • Experience demonstrating knowledge of vocational counseling, planning, and guidance along with the knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to vocational rehabilitation and related services.

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated skill with administrative and management principles, vocational rehabilitation program evaluation, and fiscal planning and budgeting.

  • Demonstrated skill in administering and coordinating major rehabilitation services within assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Knowledge of conflict resolution.

Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or Counseling from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of administrative or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation service program; or Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) and five years of administrative or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation service program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
