About the Role

Manage the business-as-usual regular financial closing & analysis for Macau statutory reporting to regulator/ AIA internal economic capital reporting/ International Capital Standard reporting/ internal reinsurance reporting under HNW basis and ensure proper governance & compliance with regulations and internal policies on valuation.
In addition, to provide management support on senior management reporting and regulatory filing & analysis.
Moreover, it is expected to manage other initiatives and projects. One of key focuses is to prepare for Macau risk-based capital framework by developing excel/ Alteryx/ python tools, and working with modelling teams for actuarial systems readiness.
This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Regular Financial Closing (Valuation, Control, Analysis) – Manage (i) reserve and capital requirement calculation follow the internal time schedule; (ii) Ensure proper control is implemented and demonstrate to meet internal control requirement; (iii) Perform analysis on reserves, capital requirement and solvency to explain the dynamics with market / demographics / business strategy and take necessary actions.
  • Senior Management Reporting – Prepare materials to provide insightful information about latest development on statutory valuation and regulatory related for different senior management committee / meeting including FRC, QBR, AC and ALCO.
  • Audit management – Prepare audit materials follow the audit time schedule and ensure proper documents are shared with auditors.
  • Governance & Compliance – Ensure proper valuation governance and compliance with regulations / internal policy and standards.
  • Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Regulatory Filing – Provide management support to regulatory filing & analysis.
  • Actuarial Initiatives / Project – Manage the tasks as assigned including impact assessment of changes in assumptions, methodologies and models.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • University / College graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Business Administration or related subject with at least 4 years’ experience in life insurance industry.
  • Good progression in Actuarial professional examination
  • Good people management and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deal with and handle multiple priorities.
  • Solid experience and knowledge in insurance product, corporate actuarial work, statutory basis reporting & regulatory filing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge in Actuarial Software, e.g. Prophet is an advantage.
  • The incumbent is required to obtain relevant license if the job involves in regulated activities.
