GENERAL FUNCTION:
Assist in the execution of moderately complex financial analysis of key business areas associated with the completion of Agency required Regulatory Reports. Represent Regulatory Reporting in various accounting and finance initiatives. Serve as a financial team member to Fifth Third Bancorp lines of business and Regulatory Agencies to meet the information needs to sustain Regulatory Reporting compliance.

While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and assist in the identification of key business factors (both internal and external) that impact Regulatory Reporting.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base to keep current on existing and emerging issues; apply this knowledge to assist business managers in sustaining regulatory reporting compliance.
- Develop recommendations and action plans to improve financial reporting disclosures and improve processes to eliminate or mitigate observed risks.
- Play a key role in the preparation of recurring Regulatory Reporting filings.
- Monitor deadlines and reporting calendar with the Regulatory Reporting Manager for completing filings.
- Prepare existing disclosures and analysis reports.
- Document, evaluate and improve design of reports and processes to ensure that analytical tools evolve as business and reporting requirements change.
- Monitoring / maintenance of general ledger chart of accounts
- Assist staff with the development and maintenance of data systems designed to track, record and report financial information needed for Regulatory Report preparation.
- Perform analytical research to identify performance trends and to make recommendations for improvements.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting, finance or banking related experience in industry or public accounting.
- Proficient with MS-Windows and other related PC applications.
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with personnel ranging from clerical staff to more senior management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performance measurement tools and technology.
- Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team.
- Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management/completion of multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate sound judgment as well as apply logical/critical thought processes.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
