The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior-level Regulatory Compliance Specialist with advanced technical expertise and strong leadership to oversee complex compliance activities across our midstream operations. This senior role serves as a primary liaison with federal and state regulatory agencies, leads high-level inspections and audits, and provides critical mentorship to junior compliance staff. Based in our Morgantown, WV office, this position requires a blend of strategic office management and field-based oversight across Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Location
This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown, WV. You’ll be expected to work in the office three days a week with occasional travel to remote field locations or well sites as needed.
What You Will Be Doing
As a senior specialist, you will lead our commitment to environmental best practices and ensure all midstream operations meet stringent standards. Your responsibilities include:
- Agency Liaison & Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for federal and state agencies, such as the Ohio EPA and PA DEP, and lead responses to regulatory inquiries or enforcement actions.
- Advanced Auditing: Lead complex site inspections and compliance audits at pipeline facilities and well pads to ensure total air, water, and waste compliance.
- Regulatory Strategy: Interpret complex regulatory changes and advise leadership on necessary operational adjustments and company-wide policy developments.
- Reporting Oversight: Manage and track high-level regulatory filings and reporting requirements for NPDES, spills, and hazardous waste.
- Mentorship & Training: Mentor and train Regulatory Compliance Specialist I and II staff, while developing comprehensive training materials for field employees.
- Incident Management: Lead incident investigations and remediation coordination, collaborating with internal teams to develop and execute corrective action plans.
- Technical Consulting: Provide expert technical guidance on SPCC/PPC plans, erosion and sediment controls, and project readiness to various operations teams.
Your Background:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; 8 years of direct experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: 6+ years of progressive regulatory compliance experience, with at least 4 years specifically in the oil and gas industry.
- Midstream Expertise: Strong experience with natural gas pipeline regulation and coordination is highly preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local oil and gas environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to mentor staff and lead company-wide compliance strategies.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills necessary for interacting with government agencies, company leadership, and contractors.
- Field Readiness: Comfort with up to 30% travel to field locations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.
Working Conditions
- Must be willing and able to work in varying weather conditions and rough field terrain as needed.
Physical Requirements

- Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
