Key Responsibilities: 

  • Submit analysis and assessment of operational impact for Umniah by Beyon of changes in policies, laws and regulations related to the development and implementation of regulations and provide management recommendations with related operational risk assessment.
  • Manage and follow the internal implementation of strategic regulatory projects ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
  • Study, analyse, coordinate, draft company position on the telecoms, digital transformation policies and regulations.
  • Provide advice and consultancy to company staff on compliance requirements, strategic risks and other interactions with regulations and legislation that pertain to ICT sector
  • Support and engage in the development and review of regulatory cost models for telecom services, applying economic and econometric principles to ensure accurate and compliant cost analyses.
  • Developing and communicating regulatory compliance policy within the various business units and evaluating the impacts.  Provides guidance and to continuously enhance awareness and understanding of regulatory compliance and policy issues, obligations and requirements.

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in law, Economics, Telecom Engineer or any other related field.

Level of Experience:

6–8 years of experience in telecommunications regulatory affairs within a telecom operator, consultancy, or national regulatory authority, 

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Commercial, regulatory backgrounds with a good technical understanding of the telecoms sectors, their networks and product offerings
  • Knowledge of market economic principles. 
  • Familiarity with regional & international telecom regulations.
  • Professional and convincing drafting (in both languages) of consultation replies & official correspondences, advocacy position papers.
  • Knowledge of Jordanian legislative & regulatory, policies, social and economic environment.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work in a small team with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good command of English language both speaking and writing 

Certifications & Licensure:

Desirable:

  • Certification or accredited training in Data Protection or Privacy Management (such as GDPR Practitioner, CIPP/E, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Regulatory or telecommunications compliance certifications are an advantage.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Telecom Engineering, or related field
  • 6-8 years' experience in telecommunications regulatory affairs at a telecom operator, consultancy, or national regulatory authority
  • Commercial and regulatory background with good technical understanding of telecom networks and product offerings
  • Knowledge of market economic principles and experience applying economic/econometric methods to regulatory cost models
  • Familiarity with regional and international telecom regulations
  • Professional drafting of consultation replies, official correspondence, and advocacy position papers in both languages
  • Knowledge of Jordanian legislative, regulatory, policy, social and economic environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good command of English (speaking and writing)
