The Legal Compliance Organization (LCO) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA and second headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI provides legal guidance to further KLA’s strategic objectives and protect and preserve the legal, ethical and financial integrity and reputation of the Company. With specific expertise in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property; the LCO offers strategic legal counsel that is informed by a clear understanding of the company’s business objectives and expertise in the laws and regulations relevant to the business worldwide.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

KLA Corporation is seeking a highly motivated teammate to serve as the EMEA lead within the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team and as the primary Ethics & Compliance partner for Israel. The individual will use their expertise to serve as the regional lead for global trade compliance matters across EMEA — supervising EU, UK, and Israel regulatory developments and leading the regional export licensing program — while also serving as the on-the-ground Ethics & Compliance presence for KLA's Israel operations. In this capacity, the role will conduct internal investigations, deliver training, advise on conflicts of interest matters, and generally be seen and serve as the primary Ethics & Compliance person for Israel. The individual will collaborate with internal and external corporate partners to lead programs that support the company's trade compliance and ethics & compliance efforts in the region.

Since the person in this role will represent both GTC and the Ethics & Compliance function in high visibility projects with multi-disciplinary teams, we are looking for someone who has strong trade compliance and licensing knowledge, sound judgment on ethics and compliance issues, can communicate effectively, and possesses excellent project management skills to drive initiatives to completion. An ability to work comfortably across global geographies and a passion for compliance are key for this position.

The position will report into the Director of Global Trade Compliance in the US and will be based in Israel. 

Trade Compliance responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Serve as the EMEA regional lead for global trade compliance matters, representing GTC and managing team members across the region
  • Research local and regional trade regulations and rulings for: HS, ECCN/Export Classification, Country of Origin, import/export documentation requirements and valuation of products
  • Lead regional import/export classification efforts; oversee EU, UK and Israel export license process
  • Work with regional teams to review impact of annual import/export regulatory changes upon company technology
  • Liaise with local Customs Authorities and other Governmental Agencies as required
  • Provide guidance to regional teams on daily operational activities and recordkeeping
  • Lead regional import/export compliance awareness training; develop and implement standardized trade compliance processes and procedures
  • Support regional Denied Parties screening efforts as required
  • Perform internal import/export audits, report on results and drive remedial actions to resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement, best practices and standardization for trade compliance programs
  • Ensure reporting of key trade compliance matters and metrics to Trade Compliance management
  • Act as a regional GTC liaison with cross-functional teams on regional corporate initiatives
  • Drive completion of annual GTC objectives

Ethics & Compliance responsibilities (Israel) will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Serve as the primary Ethics & Compliance point of contact for KLA's Israel operations, providing day-to-day guidance to local employees, managers, and leadership
  • Conduct internal investigations into potential compliance concerns, including intake, fact-finding, documentation, and follow-through on remedial actions
  • Develop and deliver ethics & compliance training tailored to the Israel workforce
  • Advise on and help manage conflicts of interest matters, including disclosures, reviews, and mitigation
  • Promote a culture of ethics and integrity, and serve as a visible, trusted resource for employees raising concerns
  • Partner with Legal and other stakeholders to implement company-wide policies, programs, and initiatives locally

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Solid knowledge of EU trade regulations is required; demonstrated work experience with Israel import/export regulations
  • Experience with, or strong aptitude for, ethics & compliance matters — including investigations, training, and conflicts of interest
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with integrity
  • Work experience in a semiconductor or high technology industry is helpful
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional global teams and drive issues to conclusion
  • Flexibility with changing priorities, as well as shifting regulatory and customer conditions
  • Motivated self-starter; strong influencing and collaborating skills

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of Global Trade Compliance experience; ethics & compliance experience a plus
  • BS or BA degree
  • Solid communication, project management and Powerpoint skills
  • Proficiency using regional licensing portals, SAP/GTS systems and MS office tools
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal direction
  • Previous experience managing programs
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Proficient in English; one EU language required; proficiency in Hebrew a plus
