Who we are looking for:

Atkore is currently searching for a Regional Sales Manager for the Florida Region. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Regional Sales Manager will have primary responsibility for driving revenue and market share growth on all Atkore products across our business units through the development and execution of our strategic initiatives. This person must be located in or around a major city within the region and will require travel mainly around Florida with some travel to nearby states.

 The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role and/or industry.  Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

 What you’ll do:

  • Drive continued growth for our product portfolio of municipal and plumbing products through our network of agents and distributors, as well as key end user influencers and specifiers where applicable.
  • Educate, train & develop our Sales Agents and end users on products through lunch and learns, demonstrations, job site visits, and field training.
  • Enter, track, manage, and report on projects, opportunities, and territory sales plans using Salesforce.com and other tools as needed.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences as needed.
  • Manage performance of Sales Agents and make changes as warranted.
  • Conduct sales objective reviews by product for all agencies and each direct salesperson.
  • Assist in the evaluation and processing of field quality complaints and returns.
  • Manage travel & entertainment expenses in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete other projects, initiatives, duties, and responsibilities as required.

What you’ll bring:

  • Must be willing and able to work remotely and travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Bachelor's Degree required with 5 plus years of related experience in sales.
  • Experience working with a distribution/manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Excellent Communication, Negotiating Skills, Presentation Skills, Analytical Skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows Applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Prior use of Salesforce preferred.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Finish Atkore immersion program and gain an understanding of our Values and Business systems.
  • Develop an understanding of the Water Product portfolio and product offerings from each plant.
  • Meet with each department leads that you will be interacting with on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with Pricing understanding the Atkore principles for pricing.
  • Work with Customer Service understanding process of order shipments and RMA’s.
  • Work with Operations understanding Lean Daily Management.

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Meet with principal person at each agency in your region that you are responsible for.
  • Review the Budget for your region and understand the product groups that play a role in obtaining your objectives.
  • Meet with the major customers in the territory developing a relationship with the Branch Managers, Operations Managers, and the Sales team with each branch.
  • Working with the Director develop a plan for selling into the National Distributors in your region.

Within 12 months, you’ll:

  • Start Monthly Lunch and Learns at Distributor branches promoting Plumbing products
  • Drive Weekly meetings with Agents reviewing Sales, Market Pricing, and sales funnel. This will be reported to the Director.
  • Attend Trade Shows promoting Atkore at a Regional level.
  • Drive sales based on voice of customer making Atkore the first choice of our customers.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $104,080 - $143,110.  Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time.  Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
