The Role:
Reporting to the Senior VP of Sales, Americas, the regional sales manager psrovide sales leadership and manages the regional sales area in the Southeast US. Sales responsibility includes Software, Hardware, Services, and Support Sales across all Grass Valley products. This position will require the ability to think strategically and solution sell.
The main responsibilities:
- Promote Grass Valley products directly to media companies, broadcasters, sports customers, consultants and integrators throughout the region.
- Work in conjunction with Product Management & Professional Services groups to promote and evangelize the entire product line.
- Organize customer and partner demonstrations and presentations of all products and solutions.
- Work with end users to detail needs & workflow analysis and to position our solutions within their requirements.
- Service existing demand and generate new demand.
- Participate at major trade shows and other key customer events.
- Develop, manage and report sales pipeline. Accurately forecast sales opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- Effectively work in a matrixed selling environment.
- Develop plans and customer base to meet or exceed assigned sales targets for the territory.
- Develop consultative sales relationships with customers and partners to deliver competitive value beyond features and functions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with product end users and report their competitive, as well as technical issues, to proper channels for market planning.
- Continuously expand knowledge of products and applications to serve traditional and emerging markets.
- Understand the competitor’s product and strategy and know how to sell against the competition.
- Work with order entry, customer service, product management, and accounts payable teams to satisfy customer issues.
- Adhere to company policy and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must reside in the service area (southeast USA)
- 10+ years of directly related sales experience in the broadcast market, preferably selling system solutions
- Experience in Broadcast, Media, or Entertainment Industries
- Effective written and oral presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work hands on when preparing demos or presentations
- Knowledge of the client base
- Expert-level skills in developing and managing a sales sector and relationships with customers
- Expert ability to sell at all levels of an organization
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven account management skills and sales management systems expertise.
- Self-motivator with a history of meeting and exceeding given sales targets
- Proven track record of achieving and beating sales targets within as organization
- Systems: General PC knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office
Preferred qualifications:
- College Degree +
- Working knowledge of SalesForce.com and QuoteWorks
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- The ability to travel as required to support all business initiatives
- The ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted
- Working conditions could include office environments, noisy lab or equipment room, airport or hotels, sports venues or arenas
