As Area Manager you drive sales growth through your team of Veterinary Diagnostic Consultants and supporting specialists. Communicating the true value of our products and services is at the heart of our IDEXX’s commercial business. Our sales professionals develop deep and meaningful relationships offering solutions to meet our customers' unique needs. Day to day, you lead the area team’s effort to work and align with other sales channels to maximize your sales and customer service objectives.
In this role:
- You will manage the sale activities in the North- West Region of Germany. This includes managing staff, assigning work, monitoring activities and evaluating performance, as well as administering employment actions, provide coaching and guidance to staff and promote staff training and development.
- You will lead work activities of the business area, plan and organize work, providing for adequate staffing and resources and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained. Activities could include supporting the development of the area budget, policies and procedures. You may coordinate work of outside vendors and contractors.
- You will identify and implement strategies and efficiencies to enhance customer experience and align with business operations.
- You’ll leverage your communication skills to coordinate work and resolve issues with other related departments. This will include providing internal and/or external customer feedback and leads/participates in teams related to new or ongoing project work and other areas.
- Your support will contribute to process improvements based on evaluation of existing procedures and business needs. Utilize data, metrics and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize customer experience. You will identify problems, obstacles and opportunities and proactively acts to address issues. Striving for continuous improvement.
- You will prepare reports and other information summarizing work activities and reports results to peer groups as well as senior management. Prepare various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions.
- The goal for the end of year one you’ll have successfully developed your territories to include more new customers, higher customer satisfaction, and greater sales through the coaching and development of your staff.
What will you need to succeed?
- You have 3+ years of leadership and people management experience
- You come with several years’ experience in sales, ideally, in the veterinary diagnostic or any other health-related business.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required, MBA or equivalent business studies a definite plus.
- You possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and direct work activities, and are experienced with the operations that are related and relevant to field sales.
- You have excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills.
- You are strong in reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills to resolve issues.
- You possess good project management skills and abilities.
- You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with mastery of the German language and at least a good knowledge of the English language.
- You are proficient in your computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
