The Role

Analytik Jena US, a company of the Endress+Hauser Group, is seeking a highly motivated and skillful instrument sales professional with biology experience to handle sales in the Northeastern region. Analytik Jena is a provider of high-performance automated liquid handling solutions, including customizable configuration, applications process and programming. Its portfolio includes the most modern technology and systems for applications in the life science area. The position will be based out of the successful candidate's Boston, MA home office.

Role + Responsibilities

  • Handle sales process from start to finish, including, prospecting, demonstrations, negotiation, follow-up, and closing the sale.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective and current customers.
  • Build and grow strong pipeline of key project accounts for instruments and consumables through generating leads and follow up on provided leads.
  • Identify the best system and configuration for customer needs; know competitive instruments and differentiation features of our systems to address competitive challenges.
  • Coordinate with our applications, programming, and service teams to provide post-sale installation, training, and customer support and service.
  • Manage sales activities and travel schedule.

Qualification + Profile

  • Experience selling liquid handling and automation capital equipment preferred, technical understanding of life science products and applications required
  • Hunter mentality; ability to find and close sales, wherewithal to make company and instruments known
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant biological sciences or engineering, such as Biochemistry, Biomedical engineering or other relevant majors, or equivalent knowledge through work experience
  • Computer proficiency with programing and software, including aptitude to learn application specific software and firmware
  • Superb communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Effective consultative selling in individual and team selling environments, with the motivation, knowledge and skills to close capital equipment sales, and build key account relationships
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Majority of weekday will be in the field, with an estimated weekday overnight travel of 25-40%
