Job Description
As a Regional Sales Director, Annuities, you will play a critical role in driving annuity sales growth and deepening advisor engagement across a designated territory. Working closely with a Regional Vice President, you will influence business outcomes through consultative sales strategies, relationship management, and deep product expertise. This role offers visibility, impact, and opportunities to shape advisor success while helping clients pursue their financial goals. You will join a high-performing team focused on growth, partnership, and delivering exceptional value to advisors.Responsibilities
- Drive annuity sales growth by developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with new and existing financial advisors using a consultative sales approach.
- Partner with the Regional Vice President to create territory business plans, manage advisor engagement strategies, and achieve regional sales objectives.
- Conduct proactive outbound sales calls, convert inbound inquiries into sales opportunities, and participate in virtual and in-person advisor meetings and presentations.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, distribution partners, and external business partners to support business growth.
- Demonstrate expertise in the RiverSource annuity product portfolio and position solutions that address advisor and client needs.
- Leverage customer relationship management tools, proprietary systems, business intelligence, and sales reports to identify opportunities and enhance territory performance.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, and regulatory changes, communicating insights to advisors and business partners.
- Manage workload priorities, maintain compliance requirements, and travel as needed to support territory sales activities and advisor events.
The preferred location for this role is Minneapolis; however, remote work may be considered for qualified candidates outside of the Minneapolis area.
Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, including financial services, financial sales, or financial wholesaling experience; 3+ years of industry experience is preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Active Series 6 or Series 7 license required
Active Series 63 or Series 66 registration required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Life and Health insurance licenses required
Preferred Qualifications
Professional designations such as Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLU), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC), or Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS) are preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of annuity products, advisor distribution channels, consultative sales practices, and territory management
Strong communication, presentation, influencing, relationship-building, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve sales goals.

In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary
Base Salary Range The estimated base salary for this role is $50,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
