The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge in the area of life science / genomic market and have demonstrated experience localizing marketing programs for related markets.
You are the key contact person of the marketing department for Japan and will be in close alignment with Japan commercial teams, regional marketing functions, and the global central marketing teams. You will be responsible for implementing the company’s global marketing and sales focused strategies, identifying regional business growth needs, developing and executing relevant local marketing plans to drive the company’s strategic business growth in the region.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
Lead and execute Japan Regional Marketing growth strategies
- Use regional market knowledge and customer insights, identify the region’s market growth opportunities. Translate global marketing focuses to localized, integrated marketing programs to reach vital local customer segments, and achieve marketing funnel growth target.
- Follow the central marketing guideline, ensure the company’s core value, brand, ethos and tone of the voice are applied and consistent in Japan.
- Implement and maintain consistency of the central marketing SOPs, standards and measurement metrics in Japan.
- Work closely with other marketing teams and support central/regional marketing efforts as needed.
Manage and execute marketing funnel activities in Japan
- In consultation with regional commercial leaders and marketing teams, identify local demand-generation marketing campaigns to support regional business growth.
- Optimise global marketing campaigns for regional execution including: campaign channel structure, program design, tactical plan, and metrics.
- Work closely with the regional Marketing Operations and regional Events teams to create, manage, and execute regional marketing activities such as advertising, promotions, webinars, conferences and local advocators that support and complement the marketing campaign.
- Collaborate with regional events team to support the alignment of local events plan with business focuses and strategies. Provide in-country support to events planning and execution when needed.
- Manage the curation of defined global marketing materials and contents and their effective localization and distribution to customers in Japan.
- Monitor marketing performance and progress against strategic priorities and provide summarised reports to support regional and global strategy.
- Accurate regional marketing budget reporting and dashboards.
Support sales and key commercial channels
- Deliver global and regional-focused sales trainings and programmes as appropriate.
- Work with the central marketing team, provide local competitor information with a set of sales tools which help regional sales teams to position and sell the company’s product portfolio.
- Implement marketing channel partner initiatives at regional level.
- Supply approved slides and review presentations for sales & marketing activities.
What We're Looking For...
- Minimum BSc in biological sciences discipline; MSc/PhD or above preferred/
- Previous marketing experience within a life science and/or genomic sequencing industry.
- Have working knowledge of the life science/genomic market in Japan.
- Demonstrable experience in development of strategic marketing plans and execution of tactical marketing plans.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms/ SFDC.
- Experience in working with distributors, dealers and channel partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organisational/time-management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and expectations.
- Comfortable communicating with cross-functional teams and external agencies.
- Comfortable to travel 30-40% in Japan.
