POSITION OVERVIEW

The Coordinator, Operations, Marketing Communications and Partnerships will play a pivotal role in supporting the Team Lead, Marketing in executing strategic marketing and partnership initiatives across Western Canada, while also providing support to other regions as needed. This role is essential to advancing BDC’s growth in the region by coordinating and implementing marketing programs that align with business objectives.

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Coordinator will help deliver integrated campaigns and partnership activations across a variety of channels—including digital platforms, events, and communications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about creating impactful marketing experiences that support entrepreneurs and strengthen BDC’s brand presence, primarily in Western Canada and beyond.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Coordinate and execute the activation of local events and sponsorships to ensure maximum brand visibility, reach and lead generation - from managing lists, invitations, marketing materials, and social media efforts to collaborating with vendors and coordinating post-event promotional efforts.

  • Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, and partners to support marketing initiatives.

  • Conduct research to identify sponsorship and speaking opportunities and evaluate proposed marketing initiatives for designated local markets and industry sectors.

  • Work closely with head office teams as needed to support field inquiries such as social media, events, local advertising, publications, collateral, CRM, email campaigns and other digital channel requests.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute marketing campaigns, promotions and events tailored to the region.

  • Ensure tracking and measuring of all marketing activities. Gather data points and feedback and report on the return-on-investment and other marketing performance KPIs. Work with each business centre to ensure accurate data collection.

  • Monitor the use of BDC brand in the field and collaborate with head office to ensure optimal brand and message coherence.

  • Ensure BDC business centres are aware of the marketing tools at their disposal and leverage them properly, in compliance with BDC’s brand standards.

  • Provide support for any other projects as identified by the Team Lead, Marketing.

  • Provide budget-tracking support to manage regional marketing budgets.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Degree/diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field.​

  • 3 years of experience in B2B marketing and communications. Sponsorship activation experience is necessary.

  • Excellent administration abilities including the ability to organize work and establish priorities.

  • Strong communication skills are essential including excellent writing and editing skills.

  • Proven people skills and the ability to establish working relationships internal management, staff, as well as outside vendors as required.

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.

  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task while still maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong content marketing skills and experience executing B2B campaigns.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Good knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms is a plus.

  • Location: Hybrid in British Columbia (BC)
