Clarios, a leading manufacturer of low voltage batteries, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with experience in non-ferrous casting, rolling, and high-speed progressive stamping. You will collaborate with three plants to ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget. Your expertise will drive operational excellence and contribute to our success.

How you will do it

Operational Excellence:

  • Drive adherence to standard processes, including machine settings, operator work instructions, and preventative and predictive equipment maintenance.

  • Strive for a minimum Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of 85%.

Project Management:

  • Lead projects related to the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the three US production plants to optimize processes for the production and stamping of non-ferrous coils.

  • Provide technical support for the grid manufacturing plants.

Equipment Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.

  • Ensure smooth operation of automated processes to minimize downtime.

Problem Solving:

  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving exercises.

  • Utilize strong analytical skills, knowledge of metallurgical principles, and proficiency in process optimization tools like Lean and Six Sigma.

Professionalism and Communication:

  • Represent Clarios professionally in all interactions.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Self-Motivation:

  • Take initiative and proactively address challenges.

  • Contribute to a positive work environment.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.

  • Experience in non-ferrous metals processing, including casting, rolling, and coiling, and high-speed progressive die stamping.

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical).

  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge of metallurgical principles, and proficiency in process optimization tools like Lean and Six Sigma.
