Job Summary
Pico Propane is seeking a Regional Manager (RM) of Operations to lead the strategic and operational performance of the East Florida Region, with responsibility for safety, delivery efficiency, profitability, and exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership in logistics and fleet management, financial oversight, communication, problem-solving, organization, and a growth mindset.

Responsibilities include overseeing processes, inventory, supply chain, safety and environmental compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting. The RM will drive continuous improvement, coordinate operations with sales, manage customer and vendor relationships, ensure regulatory compliance, and operate within company policies and budget guidelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Region Performance:

  • Responsible for overall profit and loss financial performance with focus on safety, profitability, efficiency, growth, and exceptional customer service
  • Oversee day-to-day operations by empowering and supporting the local Operations leadership including continuous awareness of KPIs and resource need planning
  • Develop and implement primary and contingency plans to support operations to be in position to respond immediately to emergency requests from current customers including weather events and be able to support business development opportunities.
  • Directly support and lead customer growth goals in coordination with sales team and management
  • Responsibility of overall delivery and service work scheduling, efficiency and optimization
  • Responsible for implementing and execution of company initiatives
  • Coordinate and implement all safety initiatives as directed by the company safety committee
  • Responsible for the coordination of fleet maintenance, safety records, DOT files/records and overall plant/asset compliance using company fleet management and compliance
  • Monitor and implement all safety practices as regarded by regulatory agencies and company policies
  • Provides feedback to senior management regarding region performance including competitor information
  • Maintain adequate systems knowledge and communicate system support needs for plant operations
  • Responsible for inventory management and pricing programs
  • Meet or exceed budget revenue guidelines and control expenses to meet or exceed budget requirements
  • Evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly plant reporting as required by senior management and ensure that functions at each plant are performed as required and adapting to trends identified
  • Responsible for accounts receivable for the area
  • Adhere with all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Coordinate with management on equipment needs and repairs including procurement forecasting and asset optimization

Personnel Management:

  • Currently, this position will directly supervise 3 locations (West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami)
  • Recruits, hires and trains employees based on criteria agreed upon by senior management
  • Ensure timeliness of recruiting and interview responses withing the regions
  • Ensures a quality boarding experience and reoccurring in person training in coordination with company HR and support for all newly hired employees
  • Manage applicable team meetings, development programs and reporting
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees

Customer Service:

  • Ensure region personnel provide timely and professional responses to all customer inquiries
  • Urgently resolve customer problems by clarifying customer concerns; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
  • Responsible for achieving acceptable customer positive reviews on review platforms
  • Ensure all personnel understand and promote our company services and inside sales strategies
  • Ensure locations have continuous improvement on customer data and information
  • Oversee region’s annual community engagement activities and customer appreciation events

Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven leadership with ability to coach and motivate a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively up and down the organization while using active listening skills
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive situations
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and use of Data and Reports to make business decisions
  • Service oriented
  • Ability to attain necessary certificates to lead the team

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or associate degree with at least ten (10) years of management experience; or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required
  • Familiarity with fuel products and preferred experience working with industrial and commercial customers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • This position will require consistent travel and availability to support all assigned markets; as well as, additional requirements to provide support for seasonal demands including severe weather and emergency events.
  • Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least 20 - 75 pounds
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
