- Provide strong leadership to the regional sales and marketing team, ensuring consistent achievement of sales targets and execution of periodical marketing campaigns.
- Input in WATU Credit’s business development strategy within the Region through your deep knowledge of the Region’s business potential, seasonality and competitive landscape.
- Drive the execution of the strategy on the ground, building relationships with new as well as existing clients.
- Run periodical customer surveys and competitive analysis.
- Be the guardian of the quality of the loan portfolio for your Region.
- Ensure proper and timely loan processing (max 2 hours) while also ensuring that Credit Risk assessment and controls are strictly followed.
- Provide hands-on support to the Asset Recovery, Emergency and Legal teams within the Region by supporting the hiring of Informants and Route Controllers within the community as well as by building strong relationships and triggering joint operations with Law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain consistent service delivery and professional visual appearance within all Branches.
- Communicate the expectation levels and vision of the Company to all staff within the Region in line with the company’s corporate vision and goals.
- Provide feedback and run Performance Appraisals for direct reports in line with company’s performance appraisal system.
- Ensure an harmonious working environment in the Region including by running periodical staff Townhall and by listening to /acting on employee’s challenges.
- Be the face of Watu in the Region, maintaining strong relationships with Watu’s stakeholders including Boda Boda Associations, Police, City Authorities, URA,….
- Build business relationships with motorbike dealerships, ensuring timely stock delivery, quality after-sales support and favorable credit lines if applicable.
- Organize periodical engagement meetings with the Boda Boda Community, nurturing a positive and mutually beneficial relationship.
- Follow closely the Revenue to Cost ratio for Branches within the Territory, ensuring that sales are maximized and costs are right-sized.
- Monitor Staff and warehousing space adequation to business volumes and recommend adjustments.
- Ensure prudent use of branch resources including petty cash and company equipment.
- Ensure timely renewal of branch licenses, permits, and regulatory compliance.
- Support functional departments such as ESG, Compliance or Operations Excellence in conducting regular Branch Assessments and implementing corrective actions.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time
