Role Purpose:

Own the launch and day-to-day leadership of our El Salvador business. As Regional Manager & Legal Representative (Representante Legal), ensure compliant, safe and scalable operations; build the local team; deliver growth; and maintain strong relationships with regulators, banks and key partners.

Key Responsibilities

1) Corporate governance & legal representation

  • Serve as Company Director and Representante Legal of the Salvadoran entity; ensure all corporate books, filings and permits are current.
  • Execute board decisions; prepare local board packs, KPIs and statutory reports; uphold director duties (care, skill, diligence, conflicts).

2) Regulatory, compliance & AML coordination

  • Act as primary local contact with relevant authorities and industry bodies; coordinate with Group Compliance/MLRO on AML/CFT, sanctions, reporting, audits and exams.
  • Ensure policies (KYC/KYB, onboarding, TM, complaints, safeguarding where applicable) are implemented locally; oversee vendor/outsourcing due diligence.

3) Operations & delivery

  • Own daily operations across onboarding, payments flows, customer support and reconciliations; ensure SLAs, quality and incident management.
  • Implement playbooks for change management, releases and operational acceptance for new products.

4) Commercial & partnerships

  • Build and manage partnerships with banks, PSPs, payment schemes, FX/on–off-ramp providers and strategic enterprise clients.
  • Execute the local go-to-market plan; monitor unit economics and customer outcomes.

5) People & culture

  • Hire, lead and develop a high-performing local team; set objectives/OKRs, coaching and performance reviews.
  • Uphold company values, inclusion and conduct standards.

6) Finance, controls & risk

  • Own local P&L delivery; forecast and manage budgets; ensure accurate invoicing, collections and cost control.
  • Maintain risk register; run periodic risk assessments; ensure BCP/DR drills; remediate findings from audits and reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years in payments/fintech or financial services; 3+ years leading a country/region or running a regulated operations/function.
  • Proven experience working with regulators/banking partners in Latin America; strong grasp of AML/CFT, KYC/KYB and operational controls.
  • Track record building teams and scaling operations; comfort with enterprise customers and complex integrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (business, finance, law or related); postgraduate or professional certifications (compliance/AML/risk) are a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (professional fluency).
