Reporting to the VP of HSE, the Regional HSE Director will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety strategies within their respective teams within the organization.
- Lead safety mission, vision, and culture within the organizational locations within the division.
- Provides recommendations and advises the company's Vice President of Safety on developing and implementing solutions to mitigate safety hazards and conditions.
- Partner collaboratively with leaders in each location, generating progressive cultural evolution, and provide leadership in training our leaders in determining root cause analysis and corrective actions during investigations of safety incidents
- Responsible for developing and implementing safety procedures and programs to drive results.
- Develops and cultivates a local Safety team in reducing employee risk by planning and executing safety strategies.
- Promotes a behavior-based safety environment.
- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety training, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Develop, communicate, and maintain the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Emergency Action Plans (EAP) for assigned locations.
- Facilitates and provides technical and administrative support to safety committees, subcommittees, and working groups.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health challenges.
- Conducts and facilitates employee training on applicable safety standards.
Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates. - Conducts management/leadership site safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Works with Safety Managers and operational teams through incident reporting and corrective actions.
- Ensures that clerical staff maintain the OSHA safety log and other administrative requirements related to safety operations and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned that are in line with corporate directives.

- Bachelor’s degree in health, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
- Extensive experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Professional safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent are preferred.
- At least eight (8) years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment is required.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time to Regional locations from Alaska to San Diego.
- Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Risk Management Software platforms.

Work environment:
- Requires 60% travel throughout locations as required to demonstrate safety leadership engagement.
- Will be required to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on an as-needed basis.
- May be required to travel internationally (Canada).
