As Maersk continues to strengthen its position in Project Logistics, we are looking for a Regional Head of Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) – Europe to lead one of the most strategically important regions within our global MPL organisation.
Based in Aarhus, Denmark, this leadership role provides full regional accountability for the MPL business across Europe, including commercial growth, operational performance, customer outcomes, strategic execution, and financial results.
This is an opportunity to lead a specialist logistics business operating at the most complex end of the supply chain, supporting customers across industries such as energy, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, renewables, mining, construction, and large-scale capital projects.
The Role
As Regional Head of MPL Europe, you will be accountable for the overall performance and growth of the MPL business across the region.
You will lead the execution of Maersk's global MPL strategy whilst shaping the regional business plan, ensuring that commercial opportunities are converted into profitable growth and that operational delivery consistently meets the expectations of some of the world's most demanding customers.
You will oversee all aspects of the MPL product organisation within Europe, including commercial engagement, pricing, procurement, execution, service delivery, customer development, and financial performance.
Success in this role requires exceptional leadership across a complex matrix organisation. You will influence stakeholders across Product, Sales, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Area leadership teams to ensure Europe continues to deliver sustainable growth whilst maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
What You Will Lead
Regional Strategy & Business Leadership
- Define and execute the European MPL business strategy in alignment with the global MPL vision and regional Logistics & Services priorities.
- Identify growth opportunities across markets, customer segments, industry verticals, and strategic accounts.
- Drive regional business planning and ensure alignment between commercial ambitions and operational capabilities.
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable actions and outcomes across the organisation.
- Represent the European MPL business within global leadership forums and contribute to the future direction of the product globally.
Commercial Growth & Customer Development
- Own the regional business growth agenda and drive profitable expansion across Europe.
- Partner closely with Centre Sales, Area Sales, Key Client Management teams, and commercial leadership to strengthen MPL positioning in strategic customer conversations.
- Lead the pursuit of major opportunities, complex tenders, and long-term customer agreements.
- Develop new business opportunities whilst expanding existing customer relationships.
- Ensure a disciplined approach to opportunity qualification, pipeline management, and commercial governance.
Financial Performance & P&L Accountability
- Hold full accountability for the MPL Europe P&L, including revenue, volume, gross profit, and overall financial performance.
- Drive performance against annual business targets and long-range plans.
- Ensure robust forecasting, financial governance, and performance management discipline.
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and competitive dynamics to optimise business results.
- Take ownership for regional profitability, productivity, and sustainable growth.
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery
- Ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality execution of complex project logistics solutions across Europe.
- Drive consistency in operational standards, governance, and customer delivery.
- Partner with operational and procurement teams to continually improve service quality, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Ensure lessons learned and best practices are embedded across the organisation.
Stakeholder & Matrix Leadership
- Lead through influence across a diverse and complex international matrix.
- Partner with Product, Procurement, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Area Leadership teams to align business priorities and execution plans.
- Build strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, industry partners, and internal leadership teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor and recognised leader for Project Logistics across the wider Maersk organisation.
- Foster collaboration across regional and global MPL teams to accelerate performance and capability development.
People Leadership & Organisational Capability
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of MPL professionals across Europe.
- Create an inclusive culture focused on customer success, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Build organisational capability to support future growth and increasing market complexity.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability across the regional organisation.
- Champion safety, diversity, engagement, and continuous learning.
