The Role

Leads UK financial accounting operations, including monthly reporting, statutory accounts, P&L and balance sheet reviews, VAT returns, cash flow forecasting, audit coordination, and SOX compliance. Partners with FP&A and external reporting teams on variance analysis and US GAAP reporting. Manages and develops the UK finance team while improving accounting processes, automation, reporting standardization, and adoption of Workday Financials.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced individual for the role of Regional Financial Controller - UK. This is a challenging and demanding leadership role with responsibility for timely and accurate monthly reporting, and filing of statutory accounts for UK companies within the Genius Sports Group.

Reports directly to the Head of Management Reporting
Leadership and development of UK financial accounting team
Production of statutory reporting (for UK based subsidiaries)
Responsible for cost reporting and relevant analysis on monthly basis
Working with FP&A team understanding variances to budget and forecasts
Review of Monthly P&Ls, Balance sheets and supporting information
Review and certification of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Improvements in Finance Processes and automation where possible
Working with Internal Audit to ensure SOX compliance
Supporting External Reporting team in US GAAP reporting
Ensuring accounting is in line with required GAAP and Group policy
Working closely with External auditors with view to simplifying annual audits
Responsible for UK VAT reconciliation and preparation of VAT returns
Development of team Workday Financials skills / reduction in reliance on Excel
Short term cashflow forecasting
Other Ad hoc work as initiated or required

Professional accounting qualification is essential
