Position Summary
The Asia Regional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager provides strategic leadership, governance, and technical oversight for Environmental, Health & Safety programs across multiple manufacturing sites in Asia. The position is responsible for driving regulatory compliance, operational risk management, EHS management system effectiveness, environmental stewardship, employee safety, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the region.
The successful candidate will partner closely with site leadership teams to ensure consistent implementation of corporate EHS requirements, customer standards, and applicable legal obligations while fostering a strong EHS culture and supporting business growth across Asia. Responsibilities include regional program deployment, site support, auditing, incident management, leadership development, and cross-site standardization efforts.
Regional EHS Leadership
- Lead the deployment and execution of Global EHS strategies, goals, initiatives, and performance expectations across Asia sites.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to site EHS managers and EHS professionals.
- Establish regional EHS priorities aligned with business objectives and risk profiles.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement, employee involvement, and accountability.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure sites maintain compliance with all applicable environmental, occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene regulations.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and RBA requirements.
- Monitor regulatory developments and communicate changes affecting operations within the region.
- Ensure sites maintain legal registers, permits, licenses, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Audit & Assurance
- Develop and execute regional audit programs to verify compliance with corporate requirements, customer standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Support customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and corporate assessments.
- Track and verify closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure effectiveness reviews are completed and supported by objective evidence.
Risk Management & Operational Excellence
- Lead regional risk assessments involving environmental, chemical, process safety, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, and emergency response programs.
- Drive implementation of critical control management and operational risk reduction initiatives.
- Promote sharing of lessons learned and best practices across sites.
Incident Management
- Lead investigations of significant incidents, near misses, environmental releases, and compliance events.
- Ensure root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
- Support crisis management, business continuity, and emergency preparedness programs.
People Development
- Build EHS organizational capability through training, mentoring, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Develop site EHS leaders and strengthen technical competencies across the region.
- Promote cross-site collaboration and standardization of EHS processes and best practice
Performance Management
- Establish and monitor regional EHS KPIs.
- Analyze performance trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on EHS performance, key risks, compliance status, and strategic initiatives.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or related technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive EHS experience within semiconductor manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, chemical processing, or other high-technology industries.
- Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations across multiple countries in Asia.
- Experience leading EHS professionals and site-level EHS organizations.
