POSITION SUMMARY:

As a key clinical operations leadership team member, the Regional Director is responsible for directing, managing, and enhancing operations across designated sites within the region. The Regional Director focuses on optimizing operational and clinical quality while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Working closely with the VP of Clinical Operations and AVP of Clinical and Financial Operations, the Regional Director aligns practices with organizational goals. Additionally, the Regional Director has primary responsibility for fostering community engagement by collaborating with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in partnership with each Health Center within the region.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. In collaboration with the Center Managers, directs all activities involved in the provision of services at a clinic, including scheduling, staffing, patient flow, ongoing clinical operations, maintaining and securing the physical facility, and monitoring and reviewing daily fiscal and accounting procedures related to sliding fee and co-payments.
  2. Assumes initiative in center activities and seeks new sources of patient referrals and programs for the growth of the health centers.
  3. In collaboration with Chief Operating Officer and VP of Clinical Operations and other leaders, ensures adherence to best practices in patient experience and operational flow.
  4. Participates with local Community Boards and attends monthly meetings.
  5. In collaboration with VP of Clinical Operations, develops and maintains relationships with local elected officials and community-based organizations.
  6. Establishes and maintains a Community Action Council and Patient Advisory Committee at Health Centers and run quarterly meetings and bi-annual respectively to include input on quality improvement initiatives.
  7. Coordinates vacations at center to ensure appropriate staff is available.
  8. Acts as primary liaison with appropriate community groups to establish, promote, and carry out programs which are responsive to community needs.
  9. Facilitates related services for health center patients as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
  10. Develops annual program goals and objectives for the health centers.  
  11. Works with central fiscal staff and senior leadership in budget preparation and     modification.
  12. Participates in QI activities by tracking statistical information, implementing goals, and ensuring ongoing monitoring of QI in collaboration with sites’ Medical Directors and other clinical leadership.
  13. Works with the Population Health/QARR team to perform outreach to new patients who appear on the Managed Care Organizations’ monthly new patient lists for the sites.
  14. Ensures that the clinical programs conform to policies and standards set by the agency as well as by state, local and federal authorities.
  15. Interprets agency policies and procedures and shares information with staff through regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  16. Increases the Centers’ visibility in the community through outreach activities, health center events/Open House and formal Linkage Agreements with Community Based Organizations.
  17. Responsible for the hiring, training, on-going supervision/progressive discipline, and evaluation of all clinic staff and assists the Human Resources Department in the recruitment, retention and/or evaluation of appropriate staff.
  18. Dual supervision responsibility including on-site supervision; collaboration with center managers and HR as appropriate.
  19. Thorough understanding of eCW utilizing available management tools to manipulate data for the day-to-day operations of the health center.
  20. Acts as a role model at the Center and within the organization and delegates assignments as appropriate.
  21. Demonstrates teamwork at all times, and addresses issues and concerns while providing guidance, advice, and proper follow-up
  22. Assesses educational needs of staff with respect to CHN and assists in their goals for continued development.
  23. Provides oversight for the Center during all hours that the site is open (including weekends, evenings, and holidays)
  24. In collaboration with facilities department, ensures quick resolution of facilities needs including both minor and major repairs and capital improvements to the sites.
  25. Performs other related duties, as assigned by supervisor.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
  • Master’s degree with a major in public health administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in administration with a preference for a healthcare setting

 

This role will cover multiple sites in the borough of Queens.
