Job Title:Regional Director, Operations

Job Description:

At agilon health, we partner with community-based primary care physicians and equip them with the platform, data, and support to succeed in value-based care. We’re looking for a Regional Director of Operations to lead market-level execution across Risk Adjustment (BOI), Quality (HEDIS), and Cost of Care in multiple markets. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of healthcare operations, performance improvement, and physician enablement.

This leader owns end-to-end operational performance across multiple markets, including planning, execution, staffing, budgets, vendor relationships, data and technology enablement, and measurable outcomes. Success in this role helps strengthen the infrastructure behind agilon’s physician partnership model, enabling more consistent quality performance, stronger risk capture, and better cost-of-care execution at scale. In a company built to help physicians stay focused on patients and outcomes, this role is central to making that model work in the field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and operationalize BOI, Quality, and Cost of Care programs across multiple markets
  • Build and enforce SOPs, SLAs, and RACIs
  • Oversee core workflows such as pre-visit record review, post-visit coding review, chart collection, query management, and provider engagement
  • Partner closely with market leaders to monitor performance and implement corrective actions
  • Define KPIs and lead root-cause analysis and process improvement efforts
  • Oversee budgets and vendor spend
  • Work with Data & Analytics and IT/Engineering to improve dashboards, integrations, automation, and technology-enabled scale
  • Support capacity planning, staffing, recruiting, training, and performance management for market BOI/Quality operations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of healthcare operations experience
  • 3+ years leading multi-market risk adjustment or quality programs
  • Bachelor’s degree, Advanced degree preferred
  • Six Sigma/Lean certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of; HEDIS, risk adjustment coding, claims/EMR data, operational team and vendor leadership, KPI/dashboard fluency, and proven program, project, and process improvement skills

agilon health’s leadership team is focused on helping physician partners grow, improve outcomes for senior patients, and deliver transformation through data, operational excellence, and technology. If you want to lead across markets and build scalable healthcare operations that support physicians and patients alike, this is a meaningful opportunity to do it here.

What We Do

agilon health is transforming health care for seniors by empowering primary-care physicians to focus on the entire health of their patients. Through our platform and partnership model, agilon health is leading the nation in creating the system we need – one built on the value of care, not the volume of fees. We honor the independence of local physicians and serve as their long-term partner so they can be the physicians they trained to be. agilon is built for physicians by physicians, as the patient-physician relationship is the cornerstone of care. We allow primary care physicians to take the long view of their relationships with patients, and to be confident in the long-term financial viability of their own practices. We do this through a Total Care Model that maintains the independence of physicians; unites them in a network of like-minded leaders; and integrates all of the components of a global risk business model into a single platform.
