Role

The Regional Director of Human Resources - APAC, based at Aman’s corporate office in Bangkok, is responsible for overseeing HR operations across 20+ hotel properties within the Asia Pacific region.

Working in close collaboration with HR leaders, the General Managers at individual properties and the corporate HR team, the Regional Director will drive a culture of excellence and engagement. Reporting to the CHRO, the position ensures compliance with local regulations, while providing hands-on support and strategic guidance to property HR teams. Though not directly responsible for any single property, the Regional Director ensures consistency in the execution of HR best practices across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with property HR leaders to manage HR operations, prepare budgets and provide guidance on policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Partner with General Managers and Managing Directors to deliver strategic HR support, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives and driving organizational performance.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, grievances and sensitive matters while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support hotel pre-openings by leading HR planning, including labour budgeting, recruitment, organizational set-up, onboarding and HR operational readiness.
  • Oversee compliance with local employment laws across all APAC jurisdictions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and property HR leaders to recruit senior-level (ExCom and above) positions across the region.
  • Implement talent management programs including succession planning, career development and performance management in collaboration with the Global Head of Talent.
  • Drive employee engagement through surveys, feedback initiatives and action planning to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Support training and service excellence initiatives in partnership with the Director of L&D and Quality.
  • Lead and oversee regional HR projects in collaboration with corporate HR to support growth and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within luxury hospitality.
  • Proven experience in a regional role overseeing multiple properties in Asia Pacific region with strong cultural awareness and adaptability.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices and local employment regulations in multiple APAC countries.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to build trust and collaboration at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic HR initiatives while balancing operational excellence.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, HR software, and Microsoft Office Suite, previous experience with Workday preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solving.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters.
  • High degree of resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region to support properties and new openings.

Skills Required
