About The Role

The Regional Director supervises Center Directors and provides strategic oversight, coaching, and technical assistance to ensure high-quality program implementation across assigned sites. This role ensures full compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Community Care Licensing Division regulations (Title 22) and California Department of Education (CDE) Early Education Division (EED) requirements, including Title 5 and all applicable contract terms and conditions. 

The Regional Director is responsible for maintaining safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environments; driving staff performance and accountability; supporting enrollment and family engagement; and fostering strong partnerships with families and the broader community.

At the Ravenswood Center, this role also supports a specialized Language and Literacy program. This program will include the use of portable technology to capture adult and child verbal interactions. In addition, the center will feature  outdoor classrooms that incorporate environmental education and play-based pedagogy. The Regional Director will provide guidance and leadership to help create a welcoming environment for all children while promoting parents and guardians as the child’s primary educators.

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Provide strong instructional and operational leadership to ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming across the center, with a specialized focus at Ravenswood and Castano Center  on nature-based learning and rich language and literacy experiences for infants, toddlers and preschool.
  • Ensure full compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Community Care Licensing Division regulations (Title 22) and California Department of Education (CDE) Early Education Division requirements, including Title 5 and all applicable contract terms and conditions.
  • Providing supervision,  coaching, performance management, and evaluation of Center Directors to strengthen and ensure quality instructional leadership, staff performance, and overall program quality.
  • Develop and implement an ongoing training plan to build staff capacity and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintain a consistent classroom visitation schedule to monitor compliance, model best practices, review documentation, and support reflective practice.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and community partners, promote parent engagement as the child’s primary educator.
  • Address the concerns of parent and staff in a timely and professional manner; conduct investigations and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor classroom and site budgets to ensure responsible stewardship of resources and alignment with program goals.
  • Support research and evaluation partnerships by coordinating communication, assisting with data collection, and ensuring fidelity to funded project goals.
  • Use data and program outcomes to inform decision-making, strengthen professional learning, and support long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Partner in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of leadership and teaching staff, and support ongoing professional development aligned with school readiness, environmental education, and early language development goals.
  • Oversee the thoughtful integration of technology and innovative practices that enhance educator effectiveness, program quality, and family engagement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff while promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.
  • Communicate expectations of the agency to staff supervised, train, and follow up to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Motivate, monitor, and assist teaching staff in fulfillment of educational requirements.
  • Conduct meetings with staff to facilitate communication and enhance the quality of the program.
  • Perform other  duties as assigned by the Director of Education and Executive Director.

 Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree required in early childhood education, social services, or other related field.
  • Obtain a Site Supervisor Permit issued by California Department of Education within 3 months of Employment.
  • Meet Title 5 and Title 22 requirements to qualify as a fully qualified site director plus 3 units of administration and 3 units of infant care if directing an infant program.
  • 4 to 5 years of work experience in a position with several of the duties outlined above.
  • 3 to 4 years of work experience supervising others.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Ability to work independently and set own goals.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diversity of parents, staff and community.
  • Immunization records that comply with Senate Bill 792 (immunity for measles, pertussis, and influenza) 
  • Required to be a mandated abuse reporter 
  • Ability to provide leadership and accept responsibility 
  • Bilingual is a plus 
  • Required CPR/First Aid Training Certification 
  • Completion CCL Record Keeping Component; 16 hours of health and safety training which includes 1 hour of nutrition training 
  • Ability to provide leadership, accept responsibility, work independently and set own goals in a professional manner. 
  • Ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously and able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. 

Compensation
$126,977.76$126,977.76 USD

  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
