Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA's products. KLA (Israel) controls over 80% of the world market sales in its field, and its products are used by every major semiconductor manufacturer around the world. KLA Israel is located in the Migdal Haemek Industrial Park.

Job Description

Responsible for supporting KLA's MicroSense Wafer Metrology products.

Key Responsibilities include:

Customer support:

  • Provide technical support in the development and implementation of customer applications looking after MicroSense products and features, thereby enabling product penetration/adoption at customer facilities. This includes investigating semiconductor manufacturing yield issues and providing metrology solutions; creating & sharing product value statements and use cases with engineering, marketing, and sales groups; and training customers and other applications engineers.
  • Work closely with customers to position MicroSense Wafer Geometry products for the metrology needs of the customers. Share the product introduction and arrange for product demos.
  • Analyze tool performance and work in a team with KLA CSEs and TSEs organization on problem-solving on KLA MicroSense tools. Work on complex problems and develop unique solutions to meet customers' requirements.

Product Development: Characterization of next-generation pioneering semiconductor tools. This includes designing test plans, collecting data, performing analysis, and publishing results and recommendations in the form of application notes and best-known methods.

Use-case Demos: Conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase tool capabilities and develop use cases to help drive tool sales.

Worldwide travel (on average 20-30%) is required to support MicroSense products at customer sites.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience and combination of education and experience in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Engineering or related fields.
  • Ability to perform sophisticated data/image analysis using a combination of Excel, Matlab, Python, JMP or other data-analysis tools.
  • Background in Applications Engineering in IC processing/Semiconductor equipment is strongly desirable.
  • Ability to independently resolve complex problems.
  • Strong presentation and project management skills
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. The candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.
  • Candidate must be self-driven, and a strong team player.
  • Business level of Japanese language skill is must.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
