Job Description:
The Regional Data Lead EU plays a critical role in ensuring core data assets are managed and governed effectively. Working alongside other data leaders, it focuses on enabling the organisation to extract value from data while maintaining compliance and quality standards. This role bridges strategy, operations, and governance, and works with technical and product leadership to ensure the data roadmap for North America is an enabler of the analytics product development strategy.
Key Responsibilities:Strategic Data ManagementExecute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the European data domains in alignment with organisational goals and global data leadership.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to prioritise data initiatives based on business value and strategic alignment.
Anticipate the data needs of product squads to unlock faster speed to value and insight.
Promote data as a strategic asset within the domain and across the organisation.
Adherence to Data Governance & Compliance Standards
Ensure adherence to data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
Ensure data quality management is applied across domains, including defining metrics, monitoring processes, and remediating issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies, such as GDPR, CCPA, or industry-specific standards.
Data Asset Delivery & Operations
Drive the development and maintenance of core data assets within the domain (e.g., master data, transactional data, reference data).
Partner with data engineering teams to implement scalable data solutions.
Oversee data lifecycle management, including acquisition, storage, transformation, and archiving processes.
Monitor the operational performance of data systems and resolve escalated issues.
Optimize processes to improve data availability, reliability, and usability.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for data-related matters within the domain.
Work closely with functional leaders, business analysts, and other domain managers to understand requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
Align with global data domain leads on any areas of overlap.
Ensure transparency in data priorities, progress, and decision-making.
Analytics Enablement
Support analytics and reporting needs by ensuring the availability of high-quality, well-documented, and governed datasets.
Partner with analytics and data science teams to deliver insights and drive innovation within the domain.
4-7 years of experience in data management, governance, engineering, integration, or related roles, with exposure to relevant data domains (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing).
Understanding of applying data governance principles, DQM, compliance standards and security protocols to global data environments.
Hands-on experience with data management tools, data analysis, or data visualisation software (Python, SQL, Power BI).
Experience with DevOps principles, including CI/CD and unit testing. Project Ownership skills with the ability to operate in an Agile Product framework.
Conversant with Data Regulations and Laws, e.g. GDPR, CCPA, PIPL
Experience with big data technologies, ETL processes and Data modelling (ideally Microsoft Azure).
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subject or similar
Preferred: Master's degree in the above fields
Preferred: Accreditations/certifications (e.g. DAMA) in data management and/or data governance practices is desirable
Preferred: Professional certifications in SQL, Python, CAP, and Microsoft certification
