Job Summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced, strategically minded Regional Client Services Sales Leader to lead our commercial sales organization across the Texas-Gulf Coast region. In this senior regional leadership role, you will hold direct strategic and operational accountability for an approximate $30M annual revenue portfolio across 13 commercial sales offices. Leading a high-performing team of 20+ sales professionals and account managers, you will drive regional market capitalization, multi-year staffing and growth strategies, and client expansion across both small-to-mid transactional and large underpenetrated owner accounts.

Crucially, this role serves as the regional executive sponsor for cross-stream commercial collaboration—integrating Service, Rental, Equipment, and Contracting to deliver comprehensive, lifecycle building solutions. Furthermore, you will directly manage and mentor early-career sales talent within the Services Graduate Training Program (GTP), overseeing their development from initial onboarding to fully autonomous, high-performing sales maturity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership, Market Capitalization & Growth

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive multi-year sales strategies, headcount roadmaps, and market-capitalization initiatives across 13 regional sales offices.
  • Identify untapped market opportunities, target competitor-held accounts, and accelerate owner conversion of Trane’s extensive installed equipment base into recurring service agreements.
  • Lead strategic account planning and executive-level negotiations for complex Master Services Agreements (MSAs), multi-site client portfolios, and long-term facility partnerships.
  • Steer the regional go-to-market motion with an emphasis on customer lifetime value, market share expansion, and margin optimization.

2. Financial Management & Revenue Accountability (~$30M Scope)

  • Maintain full P&L accountability for delivering approximately $30M in annual revenue, meeting or exceeding regional targets for gross margin, profitability, and business mix.
  • Monitor leading and lagging sales metrics, pipeline velocity, contract renewal retention rates, and pricing integrity across all branch territories.
  • Manage regional sales budgets, resource allocation, and incentive execution to ensure disciplined fiscal governance and sustained top-line growth.

3. People Leadership & GTP Early Talent Development

  • Directly lead, coach, and manage a team of approximately 20 direct reports, including seasoned Client Services Account Managers, Inside Sales Associates, and technical sales specialists.
  • Directly manage the Services Graduate Training Program (GTP) early talent pipeline: Drive recruiting, formal onboarding, technical integration, field mentorship, and ongoing competency evaluations to transition early-in-career engineers into high-performing, quota-carrying sales professionals.
  • Directly manage the Intern Program: Lead the strategy, execution, and regional stewardship of the Technical Internship Program; partner with area office leadership, field service operations, and university relations to recruit, mentor, and develop high-potential technical talent, establishing a robust pipeline of future HVAC sales engineers.
  • Cultivate an inclusive, high-performance sales culture centered on capability building, performance differentiation, continuous feedback, and active career pathing.
  • Proactively manage talent succession planning, workforce capacity, and strategic staffing to stay ahead of regional business growth.

4. Cross-Stream Enterprise Collaboration (Service, Rental, Equipment, Contracting)

  • Serve as the pivotal link breaking down commercial silos across all Trane business streams: Service, Rental Solutions, Equipment, and Contracting.
  • Partner closely with Equipment Sales Leaders, Contracting Project Managers, and Rental Solutions Teams to package comprehensive, bundled building solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Expand service agreement penetration on new equipment installations and turnkey modernizations, driving enterprise-wide account retention.

5. Operational Excellence, Analytics & Compliance

  • Leverage modern digital sales platforms, CRM analytics, and predictive service tools to create transparent operational visibility, forecast accuracy, and disciplined pipeline governance.
  • Enforce rigorous sales cadence reviews, cadence checkpoints, and customer satisfaction metrics across all 13 locations.
  • Ensure team-wide adherence to environmental health and safety (EHS) mandates, ethical business standards, commercial contracting risk thresholds, and corporate governance policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7–10+ years of progressive commercial sales and business leadership experience within commercial HVAC, building automation, facility services, or an adjacent industrial systems industry.
    • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically distributed teams (10+ reports across multiple branch or district locations).
    • Proven track record of managing and growing a substantial P&L or commercial revenue portfolio ($20M).
    • Direct experience in talent development, structured coaching, and successfully onboarding early-career technical professionals (such as engineering graduates or leadership development programs).

  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen, and executive presentation capabilities.
    • Strong contract negotiation and risk mitigation skills across complex commercial agreements.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems, digital sales enablement tools, and data-driven pipeline analytics.

  • Mobility & Licensing:
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 consecutive months with a clean driving record (no major violations such as DUI, reckless driving, or license suspensions within the past 3 years).
