The Regional Chief Engineer is responsible for leading all technical aspects of base engine design to achieve customer requirements, functional objectives, and quality targets. Scope of work includes base engine design and development, NVH, fuel efficiency, performance, durability, and engine emissions.
Responsibilities of the Regional Chief Engineer will be:
- Key contributor for execution and compliance to the Stellantis Propulsion System Development Process (PDSP) for an assigned engine program with responsibility to summarize all technical inputs for recommendation and presentation to executive leadership.
- Critical approver for all technical decisions, timing plans, change notifications (CN’s), bulletins, engine build books and service manuals.
- Responsible for approval and execution of complete engine mechanical development/validation plan for all project phases.
- Key point of contact within company for all engine related issues for assigned projects.
- Lead global cross functional teams from various department with expertise in various technical domains thru root cause analysis of issues and implementation of robust solutions.
- Lead Design System Engineers (DSE’s), Release Engineers (DRE's) and designers within the engine team in meeting program objectives for assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components with respect to cost, weight, performance, quality, manufacturing, timing, etc.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives including supplier resourcing risk assessments.
- Accountable to ensure adherence for successfully achieving all project commitments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related degree field
- A minimum of eight years of propulsion system related engineering and/or calibration experience
- Understanding of phased gated launch processes for product development
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to and prepare presentations for executive leadership
- Strong cross functional team management skills along with superior written and oral skills.
- Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, and have the ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously
